Open Forms

The earliest tradition for Open Forms (where the opening is the largest diameter) must have been for cooking: mixing, preparing, heating in a fire.  This form too is well understood by each of us at a deep, almost genetic level.  Modern potters and turners are rediscovering and pushing the limits of this form and its look and feel.
